Rosa Hunter:
Born and raised in Florida, Rosa Hunter is a trapper. She runs an extensive trapline throughout the year and assists her partner, Bill Crowder. Together, they have years off successful trapping under their belts.
Rosa says she’s the “son her father never had”. As the oldest of 4 girls, she accompanied her father on many of his hunting and trapping adventures. She recounts of hunting raccoons and squirrels at a very early age. She saw nothing unusual about coon hunting during her teen years. And she ran her own traplines for raccoons for as long as she can remember.
Into her adulthood, she continued hunting and trapping, all born out of a passion for the outdoors and all it had to offer. A few years ago, she met Bill Crowder and another passion was born. Their partnership in both life and in the woods is equally shared. They hunt and trap together throughout the year. She raises turkeys and a variety of chickens. She works part time as a letter carrier for the USPS. Whenever possible, she and Bill take their grandkids on their traplines.
Passing on the passion… that’s what it’s all about.
Member Testimonial - Trapper Training Seminar
There is nowhere in the world you can get the type of training I received this year from the Florida Trappers Association. Since the rendezvous I have caught 3 live red fox, 1 coon, 2 opossums and snared two coyotes. Thanks to all those that shared their knowledge with us, and a special thanks to Darrell and Nathaniel for teaching me the art of snaring coyotes. It works.
It has been enjoyable getting to know so many nice folks. It is a great organization. Looking forward to the next get together.
